Shuswap Lake is fantastic for swimming. There are no sharks. At the beginning of July the water level can be quite high due to snow melt and is slightly chilly, but refreshing. A dip in the lake should not be missed.

Get on two wheels and explore nearby lakes and country roads. A great way to see this beautiful area. This handy book has bike maps and route descriptions.

White Water Rafting/ Boating
If you’re looking for a bit more a thrill, the Adams River boasts some wet and wild fun; you can put your life in the hands of this rafting company. If it’s a recreational watercraft you’re after, go here for boat rentals.

House Boating (now officially a sport, kidding)
A popular excursion on the Shuswap; many groups rent one of these luxury floating abodes to cruise up the various arms of the lake at a leisurely pace. There are several companies with rentals in Salmon Arm and Sicamous, try Twin Anchors or Waterway
